I’ve had my studio, in Flemington for less than a year, however I can already see there’s something timeless about Main Street.

It comes to life with it's stores, restaurants, bakeries and cafes.

Every time I speak to someone born and raised in Hunterdon County there are delightful stories to be heard about this iconic street.

One story that stuck with me is that the iconic Ford T lived in the back stables of the Union Hotel on Main Street. I tried getting more details about this, but to no avail.... So i wonder about the authenticity. But I just love the story so much about how this man then just a young boy waited to go to the Union Hotel, to see the Ford Thunderbird, when he was a young boy!

On another cold winters' day, I was told another anecdote that stuck with me. I got chatting with a sweet gentleman in the parking lot behind 50 Main Street, where my studio is located. A very eager gentleman told me that he bought a classic car just to be part of Main Street's Car show in the summer.

I had to find a way to express this.

My illustration is a salute to Main's Street's Car Show!

The old Courthouse standing proud, watching over the day, while polished chrome and candy-colored classics roll by for the annual car show.

You can almost hear the echoes of a slower time — shop doors opening, neighbors calling hello, and engines purring like happy cats.

I’ve captured that feeling in this handmade ring dish, with a whimsical illustration of the Courthouse and the cars that made last weekend sparkle. A little keepsake of Flemington’s heart, ready to hold your own treasures.
